Do any of these genes come up twice There is IPMK AND PKFM come up twice, you are looking for very rare variants in quite restricted genetic regents, the chances of the same genes showing up twice is very rare, either means these genes means its variable and it picks up mutation all the time and they don’t tend to have any impact on its function, or it means changes in these genes increase the risk of autism IPMK-1 regulates development through IP3/calcium signalling (relevant to autism) look it up and talk about it and discuss how is this relevant to autism. The good thing about this is that it searches for your genes and see if there is any interesting ones that will relate to autism Look at all the proteins as these will give you a summary of the genes and their function Press next once all the protein names are in there , it will then put it into an network analysis , which will show you if your genes are linked in anyway, out of these 23 genes there are 2 network coming up , that has all these 4 genes GNAI3, CDC42, MYO9A,PREX1 all connected in some way previously and these 2 genes STAM and M6PR have been as well, If you go into the legend you can see that the lines between the genes are non for no interaction from database or experiment determined or predicted interaction because they are in the same region of the genome or because they have shown to be fused to each other before or they co-occur others are text mining, they are expressed in the similar patterns and the protein are similar to each other Pink and light blue colour are interested to look at, all these 4 genes all known to interact with each other and that has been shown in cells in the labs. The other 2 is showing that they are close to each other on chromosome and they co-express You can say you’re not interested in text mining because that’s not so high confidence and I am interested in experiments and they are co-expressed.
