Assignment tasksIPOIn topic 6, you have learnt the process of raising equity through an Initial Public Offering (IPO), theassociated challenge of determining the offer price, the role of the underwriters, the costs of the IPOand performance after the IPO is completed.You are required to choose five Australian IPOs completed in 2019 (note not to choose an IPO inMining industry or listed funds) on the Australian Securities Exchange and evaluate the performanceof the IPOs including:1) Evaluate whether the IPOs have been under-priced. Is the level of under-pricing on averageconsistent with that documented in research literature? Comment on the possible reasons thathave caused the under-pricing/over-pricing/fair-pricing of the IPOs. You should clearly explainyour measurement and calculation in Data and Methodology section.2) Evaluate the post-IPO price performance. Is the post-IPO performance on average consistentwith that documented in research literature? Comment on the factors that may explain theunder-performance/out-performance. You should clearly explain the time horizon, themeasurements and the benchmark of your evaluation in Data and Methodology section.3. Formatting requirementsa) Word limit: 1500 words including charts and tables and excluding reference list. Marks will bededucted if your answers exceed the word limit by more than 20%. The penalty will be 10 marks (outof 100) for each 300 words exceeding the word limit or part thereof. For example, 1801/1199 wordswill result in 10 marks penalty.2b) Structure: your submission should be structured as a standard research essay which includesintroduction, a brief literature review, a description of data and methodology, a section displaying andcritiquing the results and a conclusion section.c) References: ensure you use correct and consistent citation and referencing. Seek credible informationsources. Data resources must be appropriately acknowledged (in-text or in footnotes). Citations and thereference list must be prepared following Harvard style referencing.c) Make sure to edit your essay before submitting.
