Think that these professionals might be designers ofsoftware, implementers of security protocols, IT managers working out howto incorporate or deal with the topic in their organization and so forth.Thinking of the previous points, provide your views as to how society needs to dealwith the topic into the future. Each group should send their slides (6 slides per page is fine) to their lecturer email orshare the link of the file at the start of the presentationArguments in each slide should be supported by a reference, such (Author, year). There is an expectation that each person will present for an equal amount of time. Theaspects of good presentation technique (preparedness (including being available at thestart of the session; introducing team members; and speaking slowly and clearly will betaken into account as part of the assessment).5A logical approach to the preparation of this assignment is to prepare a preliminary draftfor Assessment 1B and then to select the material for the presentation (and the sourcesof that material) for the presentation.Assessment 1B – Literature Survey on Ethical Issues inInformation Technology (20%) [02/05/2020 11:59:00 PM Dropboxsubmission Turnitin on]The same team that prepared the presentation in Assessment Task 1A will prepare adetailed group essay of4,000 words for a group of three, and 5000 words for a group of four.Your team’s essay should cover the topics raised in assignment 1A as specific headingsin your essay – with each having equal weighting in the essay. Your essay should thustake the following format:1. Introduction (to the essay)2. Define/ explain the topic3. Explain how the topic operates (eg How Blockchain works)4. Who benefits from the topic?5. Who is negatively affected by the topic (and why)6. How society need to deal with the topic into the future7. Specific challenges faced by information systems professionals8. Conclusion9. Referenceso These should be from peer-reviewed journals. It is suitable to use asmall number of magazines or newspaper articles if they are unbiased.Business white papers may also be used but you need to understand themotivation behind their publication. Sites such as Wikipedia and lecturenotes from the unit are not suitable references for this essay.o Use the Harvard reference style for the paper. This assessment task is to be submitted via Assessment Dropbox by Week 7Assessment 2A – Mediation (20%) [Due in class Week 11]The students who were in same group for Assessment 1 will continue to work forassessment 2.In week 8 students will be introduced to negotiation theory and be involved in simulatednegotiations. In week 10 students will be provided with information sheets for mediation about an ITnegotiation in which theywill be involved in during class in week 11. Students will have roles as a mediator ORreflect roles associated with one of the two parties in the negotiation. Students will takeon the role of one of these entities:1. Small business2. Mediator, or3. IT business6 Small business IT businessMediator The small business will have around 20 regular employees and be located in Sydney’ssuburbs. It will be oneof:Cosmetic Retail Business. Currently the business supplies Cosmetics that have beenimported from overseas and sells it to chain and department stores. It would like toexpand into selling directly to consumers.Dining restaurant chain (Sizzler, KFC, Pizza Hut,..) . Note that stock/inventory systemsfor restaurant generally refer to the branch.A small hardware business. The business has two suburban stores, but is finding itdifficult to compete with the large hardware ‘chains’. It has managed to survive sofar by providing a customized ‘added value’(advice) service to a group of loyal customers. The scenarioThe small business will be looking to outsource two of three current functions that arenot performing well:Its Customer Relationship Management. The communication with customers is weak. There is frustration and dissatisfaction on the part of the customers as they cannotreach customer service. Moreover, security and data protection issues occurredmany times. Currently the current CRM is poorly designed and needs to beupdated. The business is looking to not only redesign the system, but also tointegrate its stock/ inventory database with it so that customers can see their orderin real time. The business is also interested to see what other features the ITcompany can provide and is keen to negotiate these if they add value. Its payroll. Currently the business just uses a spreadsheet to manage its payrollservices. It is difficult to maintain (especially when things like tax scales change). Asthe business is looking to expand in the future itfeels that it needs a system that can provide other services (such as leavemanagement and trackingemployee professional development). The business is willing to listen to what the ITcompany suggests in regards to what services would be suitable.7Its stock/inventory system. The business currently uses an MS Access databasesystem to manage this and it is becoming completely unworkable. It is difficult toalter and not linked in to any other part of the business.Preparing for the mediationAll three entities can access details online about ‘off the shelf’ packages for each ITfunction, examining the services that the packages provide and seeing how much theycost. All parties will need to understand that tailored solutions will typically be moreexpensive than ‘off the shelf’ products as they require customization. This is alsoimportant for mediators to know as they need to have an understanding of the climate tobe able to mediate effectively. Specifically, each student should prepare as follows:Small business: the small business operator can set the parameters for themanner in which the business operates, which will need to be communicated to themediator and the IT business. It should have an idea of what it realistically expect tobe paying for the services/ features that it requires.Mediator: Will need to have an idea of the small business, be aware of the generalnature of ICT services that could be provided and will also need to source suitablemediation processes and agreement documentsfor the terms of agreement.IT business: The business should have an awareness of the particular IT roles andskills [SFIA] required for each task and how much it is going to cost for each ofthese. There will be a need to make the business caseto the mediator and the small business as to the types of expertise that are requiredfor different function’The problem is that as the business currently would like to update all of itsfunctions, it has decided that it canonly afford to update two of these systems now. The small business and IT companyhave previously met to try to negotiate a workable solution for both parties, but havebeen unable to find common ground. They have agreedto involve the services of a mediator to resolve their differences. The agreementIf you can arrange it, it would be a good idea to bring along a laptop or tabletfor one of the negotiation team to record your thoughts and prepare the terms ofthe agreement document. Here is a guide as to how much time should be spent on different tasks:First 30 minuteso Small business, mediator and IT business are introduced and will be toldwhich two IT functions will be implemented by the small business.o The mediator should outline the purpose and aims of the mediation andhow the mediation will be conductedo The small business should briefly outline its requirements for the two ITapplications and the amount it is willing to spend.o The IT business should briefly outline the services it is willing to provideand the costs of those.Next 60 minuteso The mediation process begins with the aim of reaching a suitable outcomefor small business and IT8businessFinal 30 minuteso The final terms of agreement should be discussed and finalized usingdocuments provide by the mediator.By the end of the day (midnight) the group should submit their terms of agreement viaAssignment Dropbox. This assessment task (the terms of agreement document) should be submitted viaAssignment Dropbox.Assessment 2B – Mediation Report and reflection onissues (5%) [Due Week 12]By week 12, each student will be required to write an individual 700-word reflectivediscussion of their mediation session (5%).This is individual assignment, and not a group assignment. You are NOT to repeat whatthe outcome of the process was— this will be in the terms of agreement. You need toreflect on the mediation process— that is:▪ how you prepared for it in advance of the session,▪ how it worked,▪ where the parties differed initially, and▪ how the mediation process helped to resolve this into the eventual terms ofagreement.▪ You should also refer to what worked well and what did not, and▪ provide an overall viewpoint of the mediation process.▪ You should also reflect on what YOU learned from the process about the use ofmediation in such situations.Note that this is an ‘opinion’ piece’ and does not require any references. It representsYOUR reflections about the mediation process. However, if you choose to use references(for instance, to provide definitions or to describe how the mediation process works) thenthese should be presented appropriately. This assessment task should be submitted via Assignment Dropbox and thesimilarity of this assignment should be less than 5 percent.Assessment 3: Research Report (40%) [Due Week 12]Research Report based on researching a contemporary business issues related to the use of IS. Thisassessment will provide an opportunity for the students critically evaluate contemporary issues related tothe use of information systems, data management and insights communication. The students willinterrogate the organizational dynamics and role of an information professional within the businessenvironment. In Research Report Assessment, the students will undertake a research individually about one of theresearch domains listed below. The research comprises two stages.9The list of the subjects:1. An Overview of Ethics2. Ethics for IT Professionals and IT Users.3. Cyberattacks and Cybersecurity4. Information Privacy and Government5. Intellectual Property6. Freedom of Expression7. Ethical Decisions in Software Development8. Social Networking9. Ethics of AI and Big Data10. Ethics of Organizations: Cultures and Norms, Leadership and decision making11. Skill development, communication, negotiation and team-building12. Emerging issues in IT Professional and EthicsStage 1: Outline ‘current practice’ in one of the listed above areas. To do this, your lecturer should confirm your subject.you should refer to the following websites and select an article based upon your allocatedsubject. The article should be published in 2020 or 2021. CIO MagazineCIO (Australia)CIO (New Zealand)CIO Councilhttp://www.cio.com/http://www.cio.com.auhttp://cio.co.nz/http://www.cio.gov/CIO Insighthttp://www.cioinsight.com/ZDNet Australiahttp://www.zdnet.com.au/ACS Leadershttps://www.acs.org.au/cpd-education/ict-leaders-series.html Stage2: After selecting your article, you can outline the research domain by considering thearticle subject and the addressed issues. Afterwards you will perform a literature analysistargeted at an IT management issues recognized in stage 1.By doing the literature review, you aim to find those literatures and findings to argue thedetailed information and message of the article. For example, your research subject is confirmed by your lecturer as item number 12“Emerging issues in IT Professional and Ethics” and then you will refer to the listed website, and you will find the article “Mitigating the hidden risks of digital transformation” onhttp://www.cio.com/.In this article the author claims in Internet of Things (IoT) that“Connected devices within the enterprise can include potentially anything, from HVACsystems, to servers and other IT equipment, to vehicles, lighting systems, thermostats, appliances, and more. Organizations need to look for ways to secure and mitigate the risk ofnetworked devices to limit the connections these devices have to other devices, Smith says, and in some cases place them in separate networks.”10Now, you have to support this statement by literature in your report. For example you canpresent the article “Vulnerability-based risk assessment and mitigation strategies for edgedevices in the Internet of Things” and explain how this article in literature can support thestatement in CIO Magazine. The research Report is an individual work, and the students can start to work on report fromweek4. The report has 2000 word counts and the due date is in week 12. The report includesthe sections such as1. Introduction (150 words)2. a summary of Magazine Article (500 words)3. Argument by the literature review (1000 words)4. Conclusion (50 words)
