Scenario:  1 

You are the HR Director of a multinational organisation. You have employees in 56 countries who all work in offices. News reports coming out of Australia suggest that a virus is presenting that is very contagious and there are concerns that it will lead to a global pandemic. You must develop a plan to shift your workforce to work from home if the virus does spread and become a threat. Provide three policy options ONLY FOR YOUR AUSTRALIAN WORKFORCE.    

Scenario: 2 

You are the HR Manager of a growing manufacturing organisation that is based in South-east Queensland. You have worked over the recent five years to shift towards a high performance work system (HPWS) model of HRM. Currently you have 75 employees, but your CEO is seriously considering expanding your manufacturing plant which will require an additional 50 employees. Your CEO asks for a policy options document with three possible approaches to recruiting enough quality employees to maintain your HPWS approach to people management.    

Scenario: 3  

You are the HR Manager of a large bank. You have some concerns that you are not prepared for a large number of people that are between the ages of 55 and 65 and will be retiring in the next decade. Your CEO says that you need to get ahead of this problem and asks you to prepare a policy document that outlines three possible approaches to resolving this problem.    

 
Regardless of which single scenario you selected, the second part of the assignment is the same for each scenario. Critically analyse your “options paper” from the above three scenarios in the context of research literature on the topic.  
(The 2nd part says Critically analyse your “options paper” from the above three scenarios in the context of research literature on the topic. My question is…. should we analyse the literature on the topic and and the role and responsibilities of a HR/ER professional (like the 2nd assignment), or just focus on the literature review?
